Urgent Crisis in the Congo

There is a growing crisis in Eastern Congo, and we are asking for your support and prayers.

Recently, the M23 rebel group has increased its activity and reach in North Kivu, the province where our work takes place. Many worry that the nation will soon be at war. Over 100,000 have fled their homes as the fighting has continued to claim innocent victims. The nation is in turmoil and there is a great need for food, water, medicine, housing and so much more.

The fighting is currently within 1 hour of our campus. The city and the people are all on high alert. Our founder's home was breached and searched by soldiers. The situation was eventually resolved peacefully, but this is an indication of the intensity and reach of this conflict.

Currently, we are in a place of uncertainty. There are many moving parts and so many things to consider.  We are asking for prayer for discernment and wisdom. We have many staff to consider and the 35,000 people now displaced at our doorstep.

We are preparing for all scenarios including sending emergency funds to help support and evacuate our staff if need be. We are working with entities on the ground to assist the refugees, who have nothing, as many fled with only the clothes on their back.

We will be sending updates regularly as the situation unfolds and as we have more clarity on how we can help the nation and its people.

Please pray and share the situation with others as so many do not know what is happening in the Congo. Major news outlets are not covering the crisis so far. If you feel so moved, please also consider contributing much-needed funds. We thank you for standing with us during this crisis!
